For a designer being able to concentrate only on designing is a great thing and Hashboosh taking care of the rest is a great help.

Rowan's 'RAVING IN INDIGO' from the 'Indigo Tales' Collection

Rowan hails from Kerala and was always fascinated by the gorgeous gowns worn by celebrities. Her degree in Engineering led her to a career in IT. After a brief stint with Infosys, she decided to pursue her interest in fashion designing & completed her masters. Being one of the most prolific designers on hashboosh, with more than 20 wins under her belt, we talk to the proud young mother to find out about her.

How did you come to be part of the hashboosh community?

One day I was checking Facebook and I came across an ad of the online design site of hashboosh. I checked out and learned what the site was all about. I got really excited and decided to send my designs.

How did you feel when you saw your sketch come to life?

Seeing my designs come into reality is like a dream come true. I remember when my first design was for sale I got so excited, I ran and showed my dress to my entire family and they appreciated me for my design. For a designer being able to concentrate only on designing is a great thing and hashboosh taking care of the rest is a great help.

Where do you look for inspiration?

I get inspired from anything in the world that intrigues me. It can be a beautiful flower or the shape of a building.

How do you start to translate your inspiration into design?

When I get inspired, I start to visualise in my mind how I can incorporate the design into my dress. I sketch out different designs till I find the one to my heart?s content.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started designing?

The biggest lesson I have learned is to follow your heart. No matter if some people criticize your design or look down upon it; you are always allowed to have your own individuality and style which makes you different from others.
