Ansho is part of a fashion design faculty from Kochi. A deeply spiritual person and loving family man, his journey into the world of fashion had it's share of twists and turns. From being a Tutor to an IT Consultant, Ansho found his true calling in fashion and returned to Kochi to help his mom, who is a designer herself. Ansho did his graduation in Fashion Designing and now takes up projects of all kinds apart from being an inspiration to his students.

What sparked your interest in fashion designing?

I never had a definite ambition as such, It just used to keep changing as I discovered more about the world. At school, I took up the science stream, decided to pursue engineering as was the norm. After multiple jobs and profiles, I realized that my passion truely was in Designing. I believe that spark was there in me from the time I was a kid, as I used to observe different garments and discuss with my mom (who is a designer herself) about it.

What are your emotions when you see your sketch come to reality?

Heaven on earth! Feel grateful for all my supporters including my family and thank God?s grace. Everyone knows how difficult it is to put some idea into action; it?s just the case with the fashion designer too.

What's your design aesthetic?

I put my heart into the design, so that the buyer gets the emotions in it. Secondly, elevating someone?s personality, increasing self-confidence and feeling great about themselves.

What are your sources of inspiration?

There are many. I believe the smallest of things can inspire you. I have huge respect for art and artists of any kind. Art ain?t easy, and I understand the challenges there. Art inspires me to explore new ideas to bring in innovation. Recently, Tulle work has captured my imagination and I hope to do some projects around it soon.

How do you start to translate your inspiration into design?

I believe in subtle innovations rather than breaking rules. So, I go for the designs which would make one feel better and stand out in the trending styles, but with a subtle variation. This, I believe, gives my design a larger acceptance. I think it is my spiritual adherence that lets me take this balanced stance.

How do you keep yourself up to date with current and future trends?

Social Networks, Magazines etc. Feedback and inputs from customers about their likes and dislikes.

Do you design with any one in mind? A muse?

I am a continuous learner of different arts. Artists whom I follow at a particular time, inspires me. I am a deeply spiritual person, and I have my special connect with God Almighty and I draw strength from it. My dear and near ones mean a lot to me. So whatever I do, I want them to be proud of me.

Are there any types of styles that you avoid wearing? Tell us more about your style.

I wanna live the princely life, so I prefer to wear indo-western styles. I like different combinations of t-shirt, scarfs, blazer, waist coat, formals and denims.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started designing?

Life is just a priceless thing, live it to the fullest by being with your family, witnessing God?s grace, and make your well-wishers feel proud of you.

What do you love most about

I design at hashboosh because of the love, care and encouragement they give. I know how exciting it is for a beginner to get a chance to bring their designs to life. This movement by them to make others live their dream is the most lovely and appreciable quality about hashboosh.

Designerspeak is a series of interviews profiling talented Hashboosh designers. If you would like to nominate a Hashboosh designer to be featured in this series, shoot us an email at, with a few lines about why you think they should be featured.
