Let?s get to know her a little bit more in this edition of Designerspeak.

Tell us about you. What do you do? What have you studied?

I'm a Fashion Designer and I did my Fashion Designing from Jaipur,(Rajasthan) & since then I live in Jaipur,Rajasthan. My goal is to launch my own brand.

What sparked your interest in fashion designing?

I love the power of clothing and the transformation quality of dressing up. When I was at high school I would make my own clothing, which fitted poorly. At that time I had no idea what I was doing. That experience also made me realise the power that clothing has. I was always interested in designing and I was good at sketching, sewing etc. These things really sparked my interest in fashion designing.

How did you come to be part of the hashboosh community?

I always do something creative & different. One day I searched for online competitions for designers and came across The Hashboosh journey started from that day.

What are your emotions when you see your sketch come to reality?

I always wanted to launch my own label. When I got an email from Hashboosh that I had won, it was like a dream come true. I was extremely happy and thankful to Hashboosh

What's your design aesthetic?

I work a lot with fabric. I really like natural fabrics like silk, cotton, wool. The way fabric feels is very important for me.

What are your sources of inspiration?

I look at famous brands and celebrity attires, market trends, trade magazines, award winning/famous designers, studying technical manuals, browsing the internet. Websites helps the most, especially Pinterest and Instagram.

How do you start to translate your inspiration into design?

First I check the fabric details & understand my customers needs or companies requirements and their preferences. Then I proceed to make some rough sketches and choose the best & translate it into a final design.

How do you keep yourself up to date with current and future trends?

Reading magazines, internet. I look at famous brands' websites. They help the most.

Are there any types of styles that you avoid wearing? Tell us more about your style

Yes, Many. I avoid long dresses and anything with big shoulders or short mini dresses. It is not that I don't like to design them, but they just don't look good on me.

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned since you started designing?

Your moment will arrive and you have to be ready for it. You have to be focused on what you are hoping to achieve & be very dedicated. I'm very happy with what I have achieved.
